This is a tall version of Pink Lux with a butterfly added. The butterfly was carefully painted on separate layers. The butterfly was meant to be as accurate a representation as possible. I took a few liberties with the flowers.
About Rand Herron
My name is Rand Herron. I'm from W Palm Beach, Florida. I broke my neck in a diving accident. That catastrophic injury nearly killed me and left me a quadriplegic. I was in the hospital for nearly six months learning to do everything all over again, and to live life in a wheelchair. I am paralyzed from the chest down and partly in my arms and hands. I am able to move my arms quite well however, but am limited with triceps. Without the full use of my fingers I have mastered leverage and can do many things including driving my vehicle. When I was young I was interested in art, especially photography and darkroom work. I also used to sketch with pencil or charcoal a fair bit which consisted of mostly sports figures and portraits. I'm considering redoing this because it seems the butterfly looks too layered in, as it was because it was digitally dropped from another layer. I must correct this at some point by unifying the merge and repainting around the butterfly. Sometimes too much detail can cause a flat 2D effect. Painting the butterfly close up on a separate layer then reducing size was probably a mistake.
